FB algorithms are looking for the posts that make us respond. Generally those are the ones that anger us. When I escaped Trump Derangement Syndrome in 2020, FB switched me to atheists. Now I happily correct misconceptions of what religion, the Bible, and God are all about—without anger. I don’t know if I’ve gotten through to anybody but no one has been insulted.

My thoughts are that we have no idea what seeds we plant and may never know.. It sounds to me like your treatment for TDS was very helpful -

Your comments about algorithms is spot on - and it's such a huge part of Us Against Them. Thank you Steve for your comments and please feel free to share posts with your new atheist "friends".

Good Morning MPM - the short response to your request is - Yes, I will continue trying to be fair by including any stories of meaningful encounters with people to the left of me. As is frequently the case, my more-thought-out response, has just become the subject of my next blog post. IF YOU HAVE THAT THOUGHT, I'D VENTURE TO SAY, DOZENS OF OTHER READERS HAVE THOUGHT THE SAME THING. To be continued hopefully this Friday. Thank you for your respectful challenge.

Mark, it seems to me that all of your stories about encounters with other people involve persons to the political right of you. You then go on to talk about how you tried to show them respect and find common ground with them. This is all fine. I'm wondering if you have any stories about encounters you have had with people to the political left of you (e.g., a member of Antifa, a violent abortion rights activist, or an anarchist). If you have any such stories of encounters with extreme leftists and how you reacted, please share them with us in the interest of being fair and balanced. If you've already shared such stories, please note the date when you included a story of an encounter with an extreme leftist so that I can read it. Thanks for your writings and all your good work.
