Well-established Facts should not be ignored because we don't like them. Jill Biden received her PhD in Education in 2007 from the University of Delaware. PhD stands for Doctor of Philosophy. That would mean she can rightfully be called Doctor Biden.
When any of us ignore facts or what we see with our own eyes, we do a tremendous disservice to ourselves and our democracy. A number of police officers died because of January 6th insurrection.
Scream away - if you like, but this will be the end of my responses to this specific thread. I hope to have a "newsletter about a similar topic in the not so distant future.
But when some media says she should be made the head of CDC or the Secretary of Health for the US cabinet it makes it obvious they no nothing about her education, and I've heard her thesis is a joke. Her degree is in Education, not philosphy btw. And again, no police officers died January 6-Officer Sicknick, the one that was honored by having his body at the Capitol rotunda, died from a stroke. He was fine & spoke to his brother that night. Other officers committed suicide several months after January 6 and beyond, with no reason given for the suicide. (NBC decided to throw their deaths into the count with no evidence that they killed themselves because of J6.) That is not the job of journalism. I did enjoy my Sunday and just saw your response now. Sorry.
I'm glad you had a good Sunday. No worries about not responding right away. Just FYI - Betsy McCaughey also has a PhD. Her "doctor of philosophy" degree is in constitutional history and she can rightfully be called Doctor just the same as Jill Biden can, whether her doctorate is a PhD or an EdD. Unless I had an upper level degree in anything, I personally would not want to make any judgements about the quality of another person's education. If you were handed a Bachelor's degree of any type upon college graduation, the person who would have presented it to you would have been a doctor of philosophy in something - 99% of the time.
FOR FUTURE REFERENCE, I'M REALLY GOING TO ATTEMPT TO AVOID NIT-PICKING OR SEMANTICS. THEY ARE MERELY A DISTRACTION FROM THE PURPOSE OF MY BLOG.
Agree. If i hear one more person say that Jill Biden is a DOCTOR or that police officers were killed J6 I’m gonna scream.
If you can actually understand the information being transmitted than it could be educational, but if you don’t even have the basic understanding of the topic, blathering on about it is a disservice.
If media would stop telling everyone we are divided that would help. But those of us who actually live in the real world already know this. Media and Washington DC is not the real world at all.
I wholeheartedly agree. Educating or informing is one thing. Reinforcing what we already know ad-nauseum is another. The media and political world have always had sincere basically good people trying to do their best work for the public's welfare, but the proportion of those folk has certainly plummeted.
I take exception to your statement that straight news media is supposed to educate us. No they’re not. Report or inform only, no opinion. Educate requires knowledge of the subject matter and we all know that most of these people know little or nothing about what they are spewing. When they go out of their lane, they are doing a great disservice to the listener and have contributed mightily to the situation we find ourselves in now. Even the radio news that comes on between local programming that we listen to in the am is ridiculously biased.
I used the term "educate" loosely (as in transfer information regarding something) when I should have stopped with the word "informing". News reporting and opinion should be two separate entities. Your "educate requires knowledge" part of the comment is something I would love to dig into in the future. Many have equated taking in lots of information with getting an education. The two are not the same in my view.
In the face of mass media indoctrinating billions the efforts of peacemakers can seem naive at best. I keep faith in the teaching of Jesus that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed in the ground. As Albert Schweitzer put it, “no ray of sunshine is ever lost; but the green it awakens into being takes time to sprout.”
My lovely wife was parroting what you had said, before either of us knew you had said it. I think a lot of people are on the same page about planting seeds and then keeping the faith. Thank you - and I love the quote from Albert Schweitzer.
