When a "god," Reality, and a Superhero Collide
PART ONE - A bargain you won't want to pass up on.
Can we at least agree that an overwhelming majority of Americans wish they had more money? Hearing no “nays,” I’ll take that as a yes.
“Arnt U Set” - When life’s too short to not want more.
Well, you are all in luck.
After a stellar career in medicine,
I’ve been putting my college chemistry and economics courses
to good use!
It seems too good to be true, but I’ve developed a magic pill called - "ArntUSet "
which will increase your net income
by FIFTY PERCENT with each dose of "ArntUSet".
The intro price for one life-changing pill is a shockingly low $50
or you can get ten for only $1000 and I’ll cover the S & H.
CAUTION - Use “Arnt U Set” ONLY AS DIRECTED
In today’s world, I’m optimistic that I have a winning venture here and franchises are available. First, the last decade has witnessed an unprecedented decrease in rational thought. But secondly, our economy is built on the premise that most of us will always want more. And that is regardless of how much we have, or how much we have to sacrifice to acquire more, with the inevitable diminishing returns.
In spite of the dismal track record of wealth actually bringing more lasting happiness, fulfillment or gratitude, “always want more” has blossomed beyond being a mantra. It has taken on an almost God-like character, and its quest has been compared to life-long spiritual journeys by at least one astute observer.
Out of 161 countries, our “medium per capita income” is the third highest of all. Per the “World Population Review's” 2024 estimate and my calculations, our income is 6058% higher than that of the world’s poorest country. And yet so many of us would sacrifice almost anything for a bigger piece of the pie.
Any politician, preacher, or “news” commentator who taps into this greed, has found a winning strategy toward success, personal wealth . . . and power. The sales pitch typically comes in the form of - “someone else is taking away your money, your job, or your security " and only we can help you get and keep more . . . and more. And with that narrative billions of dollars’ worth of profits are generated and elections secured.
Let me be clear that I’m NOT against capitalism. I’m merely stating that in our ever- more populated world, endless and exponential consumerism is neither sustainable nor conducive to harmonious relationships with those we share our planet with - not to mention the planet itself. We will never placate those whose needs are insatiable.
There will be many prices to be paid for these quests of endless consumption, and I suspect many of us will bear the costs in 2024.
Please leave your comments below and stay tuned! I’ll be opening up a paywall for the first one-hundred orders of “Arnt U Set” in the near future. Be the first on your block to be happy.

I take pride in the fact that never took our three kids to Disney world. In fact, probably the most extravagant vacation was driving to Mount Rushmore. That said, they never lacked clothing, food, or shelter. All are on their own, married and we have two grandchildren. I always told them, "If you think you have a bad life, look around. There will always be people who have more than you do and many, many more people who have less. Spend less than you earn, save for the future, be nice, pay your taxes." One of my favorite quotes is, "Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out." Amen
For millennia we were focused on avoiding starvation. Now, we focus on accumulating surplus. Where's the gratitude for our existence and the compassion for the less fortunate? Are we more joyful yet?
