Maybe There Aren't Enough Dreamers
"A Song for Emily" . . . and Beyond
Sometimes I wake up in the “wee mornings” with something churning around my head - and it just keeps churning, like it’s yearning for the written page. Here were, and are, those 3 am churnings.
I wrote a song, inspired by and for my dearly departed wife the better part of a half-century ago. But I believe the words I penned are still alive and well in me, her, and maybe even you.
Song For Emily
Dreams, are meant for sharing
Life, a time for giving,
one to another
enrich our minds,
we two will grow - together as one.
Peace, a state of mind,
is not beyond our earthly home
And though, we two may differ,
different sounds - blend to harmonies.
Yes I know - heavenly tears
bring life forth from the soil -
but the stars at nite with all our dreams
come only as close as we’ll allow
Emily, no doubt, is still “out there,” exploring all of those stars. But those stars include ours and right “down” to each of our hearts. She’s already touched so many - and I’m here in her trails - hopefully touching a few more.

I remember that song. I hope you’re doing well. I have been thinking of Em a lot lately .
Love this song.
